Types of neck lift
Patients chose a neck lift (Cosmetic Surgical Procedure) to help improve the appearance of the neck, and the signs of ageing. This is performed by addressing issues such as sagging skin and excess fat which is referred to as a “turkey gobbler” neck, and muscle laxity causing bands in the neck. There are several types of surgical neck lifts, each designed to address specific patient concerns and achieve different results or outcomes. The choice of procedure depends on a patient’s individual goals and the extent of the issues they want to address. The following are descriptions of some common types of surgical neck lifts.
Cervicoplasty: Cervicoplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure that primarily focuses on removing excess folds and rhytids (Wrinkles) of the skin from the neck. It is often performed in conjunction with other neck lift and face lift procedures to achieve a smoother and more youthful neck contour.
Platysmaplasty: Platysmaplasty is a surgical procedure that addresses the neck muscles (specifically the platysma muscles) to tighten and reposition them. This procedure can help reduce the appearance of neck bands or “turkey neck” and improve muscle tone in the neck area.
